Learning Compassion, Sharing Feelings

This powerful documentary, "Children Full of Life" demonstrates that compassion, trust, respect and friendship can be taught early on -- in this instance, to fourth graders. The goal of this class is to learn how to be happy and care for other people (the two closely related).

While it sounds like this should be a class for those of us who are older, the target audience is grade schoolers.  Watch how a grammar school teacher in Tokyo, Toshiro Kanamori, teaches his pupils to understand their inner thoughts and feelings. Something we all should learn.

Kanamori has been able to teach youngsters to be compassionate with one another, to share their grief and losses, and to grow through it. Something we all need to work on.
